"Cargo Bike" Debuts at the Mickee Faust Clubhouse

“CARGO BIKE” DEBUTS AT THE MICKEE FAUST CLUBHOUSE
In a world dominated by SUVs and Global Warming, one bicycle is out to make a difference.
And that one bicycle takes you on a tour de farce of the horror genre to make its point: get out of your cars and onto your bikes!
“Cargo Bike”, a movie by Florida State University Communications professor Andy Opel and Faust Films, makes its premiere at the Mickee Faust Clubhouse on Friday, March 3. Show times are on the half-hour from 6-8PM. Admission is free, but donations at the door are welcome. You can also put yourself on a list to own your own copy of this Tallahassee-made cult film.
“It’s a comedy in the eco-horror tradition,” says Opel, who has directed and produced a number of environmental documentaries. “And it’s an attempt to awaken the sleep-walking public and rage against the machines that run our lives.”
The movie features Michael Carlucci as Bennie, a bicycle delivery man, and his girlfriend Sheila (Julie Rogers) who fights traffic everyday on her commute back and forth to a desk job. After a run-in with an H2 Hummer, Bennie begins to notice strange things about his cargo bike. With the help of Jim Hudson (Terry Galloway), a local bike shaman, Bennie comes to understand the power of his bicycle.
And in keeping with the tradition of the Oscars, and the fun of First Friday in Railroad Square, the Faustkateers will roll out the red carpet to greet the movie’s stars as they arrive on alternative transportation for the premiere. Bring your bike, bring your camera, and bring your sense of humor and outrage to the show!
